(jiří macek) The Arba lamp, designed by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez for the Swiss manufacturer of Belux lights, is simple, timeless, and, moreover, complies with Thun’s focus on issues related to sustainable development and his effort to apply an ecological approach to design.
The prerequisites for the lamp were an economical source of light and the type of wooden chosen with regard to the region of Central Europe. Maple wood, from which both the holder and shade are made, gave the name to the entire family of lamps and, thanks to its structure, endows it with an unmistakable light in which the delicate texture of the wood becomes apparent. “A lamp made in harmony with nature,” as Matteo Thun says, is, in his opinion, a bridge between the past and the future. Although it sounds like a cliché, if one takes into account its traditional aesthetics, a simple and natural structure, and the technology of the lighting utilized, he/she may utter it.
We have found the Arba lamp among the new pieces in the Bulb showroom, which represents Belux lights in the Czech Republic.
