Olgoj Chorchoj: Meadows and Sledges

(jiří macek) The magical snow-white installation in the form of a gigantic U-ramp with which the company of Ton presented itself at Designblok would probably have been just a beautiful mannerism if there had not been a very unusual product standing next to the collection of new chairs – a charming sledge designed by Olgoj Chorchoj.

There is no other product that would fit the basic manufacturing programme of Ton – wooden formed furniture – better than the sledge by Olgoj Chorchoj. The renowned furniture manufacture had an opportunity to apply all its skills, plus the charm associated with the history of wood bending in Bystřice pod Hostýnem. It is no wonder the sledge won the Best New Product Award from the editors-in-chief at Designblok ’10. The magical beautiful functional sledge chases away all our worries from the upcoming winter. I think this winter will be great thanks to Ton and Olgoj Chorchoj.

By the way, the icy white meadow, i.e. the installation by Ton at Designblok, was also designed by Olgoj Chorchoj. The meadow really matched the collection of new beechen chairs. This was a great piece of work.
