(jiří macek) The new collection by Klára Nademlýnská presents optimism and the atmosphere of the 1970s and 1990s through refined structures. One touch of the fabric would be enough for anyone. What’s more, the black color has every color of the rainbow.
“My fashion is seemingly simple; but it has a very strong personal character. When designing a new collection, I start from my mood, perceptions around me, and the feelings I experience. I always discover something new, different – a new mettle. Yet, at the same time, I remain the same person,” says Klára Nademlýnská.
When she talks about her new Autumn/Winter 08-09 collection, she mentions primarily the atmosphere of the 1970s and 1990s and positive expectations for the future. Her collection features classical tailoring, minimalism, wool fabrics, jackets, and coats.
“Although they look as if I had borrowed them from men’s wear, the overall impression is of feminine, luxury, and glamour. Structured pieces are supplemented with tops, blouses, and dresses made from flowing jerseys and silk. I also used satin and muslin,” describes Nademlýnská.
The face of the collection is Tereza Maxová as usual. “I have an imaginary woman. She represents a connection of several female personalities whom I like and who are close to me. Tereza Maxová is one of them – she has a very interesting face, charisma, and a positive stance on life. In my opinion, she is the ideal union of appearance and character,” explains Nademlýnská. Her clients also include Aňa Geislerová, Petra Němcová, and Dara Rolins.
The black-and-white photos were taken by Goran Tačevski. As for the colors, anthracite, black, night blue, purple, and aubergine dominate the collection, refreshed with rich pastel colors such as mustard yellow, royal blue, and color prints on silk.
Klára Nademlýnská was the first designer to open a boutique in the Old Town ten years ago. Thus, she laid the foundation of the present fashion quarter in Prague. The boutique was designed by Olgoj Chorchoj, the authors of its new version that will be festively presented during Designblok.
Nademlýnská states, “There is another decade ahead of us. Therefore, we would like to enter it with a new design. It is a present for us, as well as our clients. When designing the new look of the boutique, we wanted to express the intimacy we share with our clients. For this reason the boutique looks a little bit like a living room.”
