(jiří macek) Anička Kozová has created a bowl full of paths from various colored wires, which had previously been used for telephone exchanges. Thus, her artful bowl seems to be twisted up from cotton yarns and symbolizes all phone the calls that travelled through the colorful spectrum over the course of the active life of the wires and a recording of one summer.
Kozová spent the last summer with the bowl. Although I did not see her during this time, after she told me about it, I always imagine her sitting in the garden and interweaving the wires whenever I look at the bowl. Sometimes her son Alf gets involved in the process; sometimes Jerry does as well. This family siesta of wires emanates in both steep and eased lines, depending on the rain and wind. The light bowl seems to be made for winter knitting. Cotton yarns and the wool of future sweaters permeate the structure of time, summer, and the memory of the wires. The bowl is really beautiful.
The butterfly bowl was created as part of the “tresh made” project in which young designers instilled electro-waste with new life. The project was presented at Designblok this year. Apart from the bowl by Anička Kozová, the collection is dominated by jewelry.
